Are you ready for your First Aid Course? There is a lot of info below, please make sure to read it... 


The certification you receive following the course is valid for 3 years.  This course was structured to give you the maximum training and credentials in the shortest amount of time. Please kindly read through information taking special note of start times, dress advice and more. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us directly via email.

 

Start time: 

09:00am, check-in starts at 08:30am 


What to bring:

  • Pen/Pencil

  • Paper/Pad

  • Water bottle

  • Towel/knee pad/yoga matt

  • Lunch and snacks

Course Description & Info:

Comprehensive course offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home or on your boat. Includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. Meets federal and a variety of provincial/territorial regulations for Standard First Aid and CPR. 

 

Completion Requirements:
100% attendance, skills demonstration, and 80% min. passing grade on written exam

 

Certification:
Valid for 3-years from the date of completion.


Therefore, please follow the guidelines below; in order for you to successfully complete and enjoy the course.  

THE MUST “DO’s”

  • HAVE FUN: This course is interactive and energized, you should be too.

  • PARTICIPATE:  All students are required to play the roles of: First Aider and Injured(as needed). A 100% participation is required.

  • Wear comfortable clothing that you would normally wear; this helps you in simulating a better practice for real life scenarios.

  • Bring a watch with a second hand (preferable) or download a free stopwatch app to take vital signs.

  • Please bring a pair of shoes to wear indoors (if its rainy or snowy) to keep dirt/slush off the floor as we will be down on it doing skills.

  • Please bring lots and lots of food/snacks/drinks to eat and hydrate throughout the day to keep your sugars up and motivated.

THE 3 BIG “NO’s”

  • NO LATENESS: Tardiness is not accepted.  If you’re running late due to unforeseen circumstance please call me directly and let me know, and we can make arrangements.  You will be given one free pass, if you’re late without notice more than 30mins.  If you continue, you will need to find an alternative course.  

  • NO LEAVING EARLY:  Class starts at 0900hrs, and ends at 1700hrs.  Make arrangements to stay for the full duration.  If you cannot attend the full duration, rebook your course.  The course requires %100 attendance.  NO EXCEPTION.

  • NO USAGE OF ELECTRONIC DEVICES IN CLASS:  Unless you’re using electronic devise to aid in typing notes, they must be turned off or on vibrate.  You will be given ample times for breaks, which will allow you to check/text messages or calls. You are here to literally learn how to save lives, your distractions in class could be the vital information you missed, in order save an injured person.  

In this level of training, knowledge is the difference of saving someone or getting them killed.  Once you completed the course, you are specialized expert and are expected to know and uphold certain level of in-depth knowledge.
